We need volunteers who are interested in leading tours, both walking tours and bus tours during the summer season. We can provide training and information. We could also use someone who can open the HECP and sit outside the door to provide information for visitors, or lead tours through the building.

The Puget Sound Coast Artillery Museum and Fort Worden State Park sponsor periodic volunteer workparties. CAM volunteers also do a lot of work in small groups. If you'd like to volunteer in the Museum or on some of our work parties, please contact the Museum. Our work parties are irregular due to availability of our volunteers, so please call to see if we have something planned.

For those who would like to come work as a group, please contact the museum, we will be happy to set up a special event.

We recommend that people support State Parks by buying a Discover pass but we can get free day passes for anyone who needs them while doing volunteer work. These passes would only be valid during the work party and at that location.

What to bring: water, gloves, dress for the weather. If the weather is bad we have a little work that can be done inside the museum, we also have work that can be done under cover protected from the rain, but it's unheated.

Potential projects [depending on time of year, weather and turn-out] include brush clearing around structures on the hill; invasive plant removal; cleaning the ground level gutters on the hill; maintaining view sheds; prepping, painting or lubricating doors in the batteries and other buildings on the hill; and prepping and painting concrete structures.

If you have questions please call the Coast Artillery Museum at (360) 385-0373 or <email> us.
