This is the short hall at the top of the stairs, the mostly filled in utility vault is a tripping hazard. Without a flashlight, you won't see it. It's described in the plans as a "handhole" and is probably only about a foot deep. It served the same function as a junction box, allowing workers to run and connect wires. Ceramic conduits ran from here to handholes in both of the Command Posts. The GCP is straight ahead, the airlock to the GPMTCP is the door on the right.
