This picture apparently taken from the HECP sometime after 1943 shows the east intake pipe, marked by the arrow. The closer building was a Ready Barracks built in 1908 to house a small number of troops whose job was to prep the gun batteries in case of need, while the rest of the troops came up from the Fort. The second building was the stepped Barancas building. The grassy field is the top of the cistern.
